Good News Bible Chapel:
Good News Bible Chapel is a non-denominational, evangelical church. At the Chapel we want to help people discover, then grow closer in, a personal relationship with God. We like to say that "It's not about rules - it's about a relationship!"
A relationship with God is best discovered in community. And Good News is a community of people who are sincerely seeking a closer relationship with God. We offer uplifting worship, practical Bible messages and genuine friendship in a relaxed, informal setting.
Believers need regular doses of worship and teaching in order to grow spiritually (Hebrews 10:25). Worship draws hearts grow closer to God through expressions of love and appreciation to Him. Teaching gives insight regarding how God's truth applies to daily challenges and opportunities.
Through personal Bible reading and prayer, believers learn to experience God's guidance and companionship. In small group community, we grow in love for one another and devotion to Christ. This growth continues as we help the church reach others through service and stewardship.
What to expect:
There are two Sunday morning services: The weekly Remembrance Service starts at 9:00AM and the Celebration & Growth Service begins at 10:45.
The distinctive Remembrance Service is somewhat unusual in our heavily programmed and fast paced culture. We believe that this weekly Remembrance Service is faithful to our Lord's commandment to remember Him when we come together. Scripture offers great freedom in how/when Christ-followers can come together and worship. So we have constructed a time that strikes a sensitive balance between structure and freedom in worship. We affirm this to be a time of Spirit-led worship while "Letting all things be done decently and in order" (I Cor 14:40). Spirit-led means many things to many believers. At GNBC this means bringing a thought or a scripture, a prayer or a hymn/chorus as led by The Spirit (I Cor 14:26) for all to sing on that theme. This time then culminates in breaking the bread and sharing the cup, remembering the person and work of Jesus Christ. So this quiet, reflective service begins with devotional thoughts on a Scripture passage that was announced the previous week for all to meditate on during the week. Then brothers or sisters are invited to share--as the Holy Spirit prompts them. And after the emblems are passed there is a time of prayer requests and communal prayer.
The informal and lively Celebration & Growth Service at 10:45 begins with contemporary praise & worship that is prayerfully blended with classic hymns. The dress code is pretty informal too. Some will wear a tie or skirt, but most wear "business casual." Come as you are! This time of worship is followed by practical, life-changing, Christ-centered teaching from God's word, the Bible.
Safe, supervised Nursery care for infants up to 3 years old is provided during this 10:45AM service. There is a Family Room with closed circuit TV broadcast of the Celebration & Growth Service for parents with restless kids. A safe, fun Sunday School called Xcellent News! Kids begins at 10:45AM during the Celebration & Growth Service. XNK is led by teams of experienced teachers and provides age-appropriate ministry for children from 3 years old through 5th grade.
Mid-week Care Groups - for Middle School, High School, young adults, adults, women, and men - meet in area homes during the week for Bible study, prayer, spiritual growth, support and building friendships.
Graceland, the Sr High Youth Group, meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30PM. Club 180, the Jr High Youth Group, meets every Thursday evening at 6:30PM.
