The Nursery
The Nursery at Good News provides loving care for infants and toddlers up to and including 3 year olds. Supervision is provided by a co-op of parents and other adults who take turns caring for the children. If your kids benefit from the Nursery, we encourage you to sign up to serve as a volunteer there occasionally.
Nursery Hours: The Nursery is open during the 10:45AM Celebration & Growth Service. The volunteers in the Nursery appreciate parents returning to pick up their children promptly after the service as extended baby-sitting is not part of the plan.
The Family Room
Are your kids getting a bit restless during Celebration & Growth Service? Feel free to take them to the Family Room just off the main auditorium. You can watch and listen to the service over a closed circuit TV and not have to worry about disturbing others. All children must be accompanied by a parent in the Family Room.
Xcellent News Kids! @ 10:45AM for children Pre-K - 6th Grade
We offer age appropriate ministry in our a safe and fun Sunday School called Xcellent News Kids! for children Pre-K through 6th grade starting at 10:45AM during the Celebration & Growth Service.
Under the direction of Maia Borgal and Sue Freeman, XNK! classes are taught by teams of experienced volunteer teachers using the Faith Weavers curriculum from Group Publishing. Ask a greeter for more information about getting your children involved in Xcellent News Kids!
Please try to pick up your children as soon as the service ends, as long term long-term baby sitting is not part of the plan. Thanks!
The Sunday Morning Xcellent News Kids! Schedule:
10:45AM Meet with Families in the Celebration & Growth Service in the gym for Praise & Worship together as a family.
11:00AM All kids Pre-K through 6th grade are dismissed to the Lower Chapel for Xcellent News Kids! Praise & Worship, traditional SS choruses, Bible memory, and Sword Drills!
11:15AM Sunday school students go to age-appropriate classes in classrooms A-D using the FaithWeaver's curriculum from Group Publishing.
12:05PM All students are dismissed to meet with parent.
VBS
Good News has a fantastic VBS (Vacation Bible School) for one week each summer that attracts kids and their families from a wide area. The evening VBS program for the whole family begins at 5:30PM and includes dinner, a fast moving and fun program for kids through Middle School, and separate activities for moms and dads.
